BA Illustration

Kulturhuef Museum

As part of my BA Illustration Final Major Project, I worked with the Kulturhuef printing and playing card museum in Grevenmacher to create a publication that guides children through the exhibition space.

Gutenberg & Dieudonné

for kids

A modern twist on history.  Gutenberg and Dieudonné guide children through the exhibition and explain the craft behind printed books and playing cards.

Playful education

The guide offers fun games that help explore the museum and understand the exhibits.  For example, the children can explore the features of the Heidelberger printing press.

Teaching through demonstrating

The publication demonstrates how and why letters need to be in reverse when printing.  The illustrations visualise concepts and processes like this to help children understand them.

Kulturhuef set

The set includes a printed bag, the museum guide, pencils to colour it in and a set of stickers showing the museums two new mascots: Gutenberg and Dieudonné.

Museum stickers

These stickers mark the points in the exhibition where the book might come in handy.  Here, it offers either a short explanation, illustrated visualisation or a game to accompany the shown exhibits.
